Hey thanks for clicking on the parents notes! It is my goal as a youth pastor to partner with parents in helping disciple their student. One of the resources that we wanted to make available to you is Parent Notes. What are parent notes you ask? Parent notes are questions from each message that will help you spark convo with your student. Go thru and choose 3 questions each week that you can ask your student about the message on Wednesday in a casual convo. Why only 3 questions??? Because students have an attention span of a gold fish which is about 3 seconds. If you have ever tried asking your student about youth group its probably gone something like so how was youth group? Their response it was good. Our goal is to put questions in your hand each week to ask your student in casual conversation so it’s not “awkward” I hope you find this resource valuable! – Nate

What topic did you guys discussed last night at Point Break? Money
If you could have an unlimited amount of money what would you buy?
Do you remember anything from the message last night?

Do you feel you do well at saving money?
Read Matthew 25:24-27 (Message version) together
24-25 “The servant given one thousand said, ‘Master, I know you have high standards and hate careless ways, that you demand the best and make no allowances for error. I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’26-27 “The master was furious. ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest.
Why did the Master mean by you did less than the least?
What was the least that he could have done?
Was the third servant responsible with the money entrusted to him?
How do we be good managers of the money that God has given us?
What is a good question to ask before you buy something? Do i WANT that or do I NEED that

What did the young rich bachelor as Jesus? What things he must do to get into heaven
How did Jesus respond? Listed off 5 of the 10 commandments and then told him to do one thing sell all his possessions and follow him.
Did the guy take Jesus up on his offer?
Why was this so hard for him to do? bc he valued the material things, the money, the fame and all that came with it more than treasures in heaven.
If you were to give up one thing what do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up or “to sell and follow Jesus”?
